Effingham County Update

Effingham Co EMA-Emergency Operations Center is at Operation Level 3; we are operatingunder normal business hours. Schools: ECBOE has advised that schools will resume Thursday, September 14.Trash/Recycling:

•  Republic Service (unincorporated portions of the county/outside city limits) - plans to resume service today (9/13) on regular routes. Recycling is suspended until further notice;customers can use both cans for trash. Collection will continue on regularly scheduled trashdays to pick up both cans. Customer service phone number 912-965-0300.Statewide Burn Ban: The Georgia Forestry Commission has issued a Statewide Burn Ban to last, at minimum, through the duration of the State of Emergency issued by the Governor.The following local non-profits are available to assist Effingham residents:

Effingham Residents Trash/Recycling/Debris:

Republic Service (unincorporated portions of the county/outside city limits) – currently collecting on regular routes and will try to pick up additional cans when possible. Recycling is suspended until further notice; customers can use both cans for trash. Collection will continue on regularly scheduled trash days to pick up both cans. Overflow – if you have an overflow of trash before your regularly scheduled collection day, the County Landfill (2750 Courthouse Rd, Guyton GA 31312) will have several large containers for household trash. This location is open Wednesday-Saturday 8am-5:30pm. 

Debris Collection – the county is working to set up a natural debris collection site. We will provide this information as it becomes available.
