Effingham County has been issued a Winter Storm Warning from 6AM to 7PM for Wednesday, January 3, 2018. We are asking all citizens to refrain from any unnecessary travel due to limited visibility and road hazards. Our primary threat will be the icing of bridges and overpasses, with a secondary threat being downed powerlines and power outages.
The Effingham County Board of Education has announced all schools will be closed Wednesday, January 3. All school related activities, the BOE meeting, and public hearing have also been cancelled for Wednesday. The Effingham County Superior, State, Probate, and Magistrate courts will be closed Wednesday, January 3 and will delaying opening until noon on Thursday, January 4.
