30-Year-Old Man with Special Needs Gets First Ever Birthday Party!!

Birthday

A 30-year-old man with special needs celebrated his birthday for the first time after being taken in by a former teacher. Chris Barrington, who functions on a six-year-old level, was found by Texas police officers as walked alone down a highway after wandering for nearly two days. The police learned that his father had recently lost his ability to move due to late-stage leukemia. When Barrington was asked if he had any other relatives, the only person he could name was his former middle school teacher, Michell Girard, who he hadn't seen in years. Girard was told that if she didn't take Barrington in, he would be put into an institution. Girard is now trying to get guardianship of Barrington after his father died on August 1st. Earlier this month, Girard threw Barrington his first birthday party ever when he turned 30, and with the help of a local fishing company, he also went on his first boat ride.
