WWII veteran walks 100 miles to feed thousands of people in his community

World War II veteran Mickey Nelson celebrated his 100th birthday a few days ago (June 27) as he continued to walk 100 miles to feed thousands of people in his community. Nelson is most of the way to his 100 miles in his small city of Clarks Grove, Minnesota. Nelson was inspired to walk to raise money for coronavirus relief after reading the story on war veteran Tom Moore who raised more than $37.4 million by walking 100 laps around his garden.

Nelson’s goal was $100,000 for his 100 miler, which he’s already achieved.
