Meet Boji, a street dog in Istanbul who makes passengers' days brighter

A stray dog that amassed a huge social media following named Boji was seen riding on Istanbul's metro tram on Wednesday as passengers gathered to take pictures and pet the now famous influencer. A young Anatolian shepherd mix, Boji's famous reclining on a seat chilled position or cuddling with passengers on various public transport modes in Istanbul garnered a lot of positive attention. The city authorities created his own Twitter and Instagram accounts to promote the use of public transports in the city while cataloging his journeys. "We live a very tiring life in a metropolis like Istanbul, and when we get on the subway, we see that Boji is sitting and looking at us and makes us smile. In that occasion, we forget everything and just seize the moment," stated Metro Istanbul manager Aylin Erol. "We carry out routine checks. Boji is brought to the clinic periodically and returned to the place where it was taken after the health checks are made," explained veterinary at Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Yalcin Keskin.

Erol, Manager at Metro Istanbul: "We live a very tiring life in a metropolis like Istanbul, and when we get on the subway, we see that Boji is sitting and looking at us and makes us smile. In that occasion, we forget everything and just seize the moment."

Alparslan, Passenger: "As long as people love animals and the environment, I don't think there is anything abnormal. I think it's very sympathetic. Boji has reached that culture, it doesn't bother anyone in anyway."
