An unfortunate Bear was finally freed after having its head stuck in a plastic container for nearly a month. The bear was first spotted several weeks ago in Collier County, and biologists attempted to track and trap the animal, but were unable to locate it. The bear was spotted again three weeks later when it appeared on a resident’s backyard security camera with the container still stuck on its head. This time, state officials were able to successfully locate the animal and tranquilize it. They say they removed the plastic container from around the 250-pound female bear’s face. Officials theorize the container may have been part of an automatic feeder, which is likely why the bear was able to survive so long with its head stuck inside of it. Officials say the freed bear appeared to be healthy and was able to eat.
