NOAA Doppler radar data indicate that the eye of Michael is now moving over southwestern Georgia.

Albany Georgia airport: 67 mph (107 km/h) Tallahassee International Airport: 61 mph (98 km/h) Dothan Alabama airport: 60 mph (96 km/h)
Dangerous storm surge continues along the coast of the Florida Panhandle. A National Ocean Service water level station at Apalachicola is still reporting nearly 5 feet of inundation above ground level.

LIBERTY COUNTY:
Hurricane Michael is a category 3 storm with winds of 115 MPH. It is located 240 miles west south west of Savannah moving North North East at 16 MPH. At this time the National Weather Service is predicting rain fall between 2 – 4 “ for our area. Liberty County is currently under a tropical storm warning and tornado watch. Tropical storm conditions are possible within the next 4 - 6 hours with sustained winds from 25 – 35 MPH and gusts to 40 - 50 MPH within rain bands. The earliest onset of these winds may start at 11:00 PM tonight and last through 3:00 – 6:00 AM in the morning.
Marine interest should remain in port and should do their best to secure property.
Coastal tides are running high with a high tide scheduled around midnight tonight. Winds and rainfall during that time, may make it difficult for tidal waters to recede. Persons normally affected by tidal changes and those in low lying areas should monitor this situation.
As with any land falling hurricane an increased threat of tornadoes will be present through Thursday. Outer bands of Michael may produce tornado activity embedded in these bands as these storms pass over the area. Persons living in non-permeant foundation homes and anyone that does not feel comfortable where they are should consider moving to another more substantial location for the night.
Liberty County Emergency Management is at partial activation of its EOC at this time.
