The holiday season is officially here, with the National Christmas Tree in Washington, D.C., and the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree in New York City both lit yesterday (November 29th). President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump were on hand for the lighting of the National Christmas Tree just south of the White House, with two of Trump's adult children, Don Jr. and Tiffany, also there. The National Christmas Tree is surrounded by 56 smaller trees featuring ornaments from every state and territory and the District of Columbia. The Rockefeller Center tree was lit in a nationally televised event that featured performances from Diana Ross, Tony Bennett, Ella Mai, Pentatonix, Martina McBride, Kellie Pickler, Rob Thomas, the Radio City Rockettes and others.
