A baby born with her heart outside her body has been fully discharged from the hospital and will be allowed to stay at home for the first time. Vanellope Hope Wilkins was delivered on November 22, 2017, by Caesarean section. She was given a one-in-10 chance to survive, but amazingly pulled through three operations, which put her heart into her chest. According to Glenfield Hospital, they were unaware of any other case in the U.K. where a baby had survived this condition
