700 animals rescued and bound for new homes on Valentine's Day

For over 700 pets, a second chance started on Valentine’s Day. The cats and dogs all came from overcrowded shelters in the southern United States, where they would likely be euthanized without intervention.

Several humane organizations partnered with pilots donating their planes, services and gas to transport thse animals from areas of high supply and low demand to areas where they have an excellent chance to get a home.

They were not only greeted by friendly faces ready to help, but the group Flights to Freedom not only provided the transportation but also donated 500 cases of Halo treats to the shelters and rescues taking in the needy animals — that way all the cats and dogs had a savory Valentine’s Day treat waiting for them when they landed.
