A senior German shepherd that had been passed over for 2,381 days finally found its forever home, thanks to the patience of Leslie Renner, executive director of The Humane Society of Preble County in Ohio. Higgins came to the shelter as a young puppy and was adopted immediately. But life in his first home was far from ideal, and sometime later he was found on the street and returned to the shelter. After six-and-a-half years of waiting, Higgins stole the heart of 22-year-old Brendon Reed, finally ending his life in the shelter. His picture adopting Higgins is posted here. :)
