Celine Dion closed out her Las Vegas residency with a bang, premiering her new song “Flying On My Own” during her final show of her 16-year Las Vegas residency on Saturday night at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. During her run at The Colosseum inside Vegas’ legendary Caesars Palace, Dion played a staggering 1,141 shows to combined crowds of more than 4.5 million people!!

“This is our final show in this beautiful Colosseum, and it’s kind of strange. When they started to put it together I was oof, I don’t know. I thought I misunderstood something, and I was going to be here for three months or something. But it has been 16 incredible years,” Celine said during the final show.

At the end of the show, Céline invited her three children on stage as she paid a heartfelt tribute to her late husbandRené Angélil. The singer gazed adoringly at a video montage of her husband, who died in January 2016 from throat cancer, age 73, while her boysRene-Charles, 18,NelsonandEddy, both 8, stood by her side. She told the audience: “I’m both proud and humbled by what we’ve accomplished at The Colosseum since we began 16 years ago when René and I first shared this dream. “This entire experience has been a huge part of my show business career… one that I will cherish forever. I have so many people to thank, but the most important ‘thank you’ goes to my fans, who gave us the opportunity to do what we love.” Celine had more than $700 million in ticket sales, making Dion by far the most successful and influential residency act to play Las Vegas.
