Paul McCartney invited Ringo to play Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band and Helter Skelter at Dodger Stadium on Saturday night July 13. It was the last show of Paul’s Freshen Up Tour.
Paul had just finished his first encore, "Birthday," when he told the audience to welcome a special guest. Ringo walked out with a huge smile. Ironically it was just days after Ringo's own birthday.
After the encore Ringo threw his drumsticks into the crowd, and reached for Paul's bass as if he were going to chuck that into the audience too. McCartney was a little shocked at first and then laughed as Ringo left the stage.
