The Center for Science in the Public Interest has released its annual "Xtreme Eating" list of some of the chain restaurant dishes that are among the highest in calories, saturated fat, added sugar, and/or sodium. This year's are:
- Sonic's Oreo Peanut Butter Master Shake -- 1,720 calories, 48 grams saturated fat, 62 grams added sugar
- Cracker Barrel's Country Boy Breakfast of three eggs, fried apples, hash browns, sirloin steak, country ham (or pork chops) and biscuits with jam and gravy -- 1,530 calories, 4,730 milligrams of sodium
- Jimmy John's 16-inch, five-meat Giant Gargantuan sandwich -- 2,190 calories, 7,720 milligrams of sodium
- Chili's Boss Burger of a burger stacked with smoked brisket, rib meat, sausage and bacon -- 2,020 calories and 3,900 milligrams of sodium
- Maggiano's Today & Tomorrow Pasta -- 1,500 calories, 40-plus grams of saturated fat
- Topgolf's Injectable Donut Holes -- 1,970 calories for 24 donut holes (which will likely be shared) and nearly 100 grams of added sugar
- Cheesecake Factory's Cinnamon Roll Pancakes -- 2,040 calories, 51 grams saturated fat, 137 grams added sugar with the icing and butter-infused syrup
Dave & Buster's Chicken & Waffle Sliders, served with Tater Tots -- 2,340 calories, 38 grams saturated fat, 98 grams added sugar and 3,420 milligrams of sodium
