Jersey senator blasts a customer for leaving a 74 cent tip on a $120 bill

A man who ate at a restaurant in Colts Neck, New Jersey, last week is considering suing New Jersey State Senator Declan O'Scanlon Jr.after the politician somehow got access to the receipt for his meal and blasted him on Twitter by name for leaving a tiny tip for the waitress. Anthony Dierolf of Pennsylvania left a 74-cent tip on his $119.26 check at the Colts Neck Inn. O'Scanlon's tweet included an unedited photo of the receipt that showed Dierolf’s name and parts of his debit card number and wrote, "Wow… have to work to qualify for my calling you out specifically as a jerk. But Anthony Dierlof [sic] qualifies. . . . Live with your misplaced obnoxiousness." Dierolf found out about the tweet, and is now considering his legal options against O'Scanlon for tweeting his personal information. The 37-year-old told the Asbury Park Press that he and his fiancee, who were on vacation, had slow service at the restaurant are were at times ignored entirely in favor of a larger party that was sitting nearby. He said, "It is a terrible tip, of course. But when I get treated like a terrible customer, I just really reflected it back on her." A woman who claims she was the waitress, Ashely Sculthorpe, tweeted her thanks to O'Scanlon, and said, "I would have understood a little better if they had said something was wrong while they were there or had a manager come over but they did not."
