Koala recovering after being hit by a car

Meet Kempsey Wazza, a very lucky young female koala who was hit by a car on the Pacific Highway (major road). Wazza was caught in the grill of the car and dragged 6 miles at high speed. The driver was unaware until he stopped the car, the koala got down and climbed up a tree. For such an ordeal, the injuries are relatively minor!

Veterinarians say the animal was lucky to escape the ordeal with only minor friction burns on her hind legs. They say the koala is healing quickly and will be returned to the wild once her rehabilitation is complete. The wounds were bandaged for ten days and are now healing on their own. Amazing story.
