Man says he accidentally got $8 million stimulus money in his bank account

Charles Calvin is a volunteer firefighter in Indiana and said he got his stimulus check last Friday but he was expecting $1700 and ended up getting about $8 million more than he was expecting.

He told a local TV station: “I went to the ATM at the Family Express and once I withdrew $200 out of my account I looked at the available balance still left in my account, and it was $8.2 million, he said, showing his bank receipts from the ATM. He was only expecting to receive $1,700.

Calvin said he double-checked his available balance: $8,200,000.

He called the bank to report the issue but the bank said the money was gone, suggesting the ATM machine is printing out the wrong balance on its receipts. On the bright side, his $1,700 stimulus payment had been deposited.

“You go from being a millionaire one second then back to being broke again. But hey, once you’re poor you don’t have anywhere else to go but up.”

He is a single father who says he lives ;paycheck to paycheck.

Calvin also said that he knew all along that he didn’t really have $8 million, but said if it was real, he would have shared it with the local community.
