Latonya Lark and her brother Kevin were driving along the Truman Parkway on May 12 when she saw what looked like a brick in mid-air headed for her windshield. Something crashed and broke the glass but it wasn't a brick. It was a turtle.
Lark and Grant said a car ahead of them likely had struck the reptile, sending it in their direction.
"When the glass broke, the first thing that came to my mind was just to shield myself.
The turtle appeared to survive the impact thanks to his shell, but Lark later said he died due to excessive blood loss.
