Trevor Buchmann saw the bear on the tree at a lake’s edge near his house. It’s thought the cub had been wandering with the bucket on its head for five days. The animal had likely become trapped while foraging for food at a local dump. When Buchmann and a friend tried to catch it at the base of the tree the cub climbed higher. Using a pole they were able to push it into the water. Once on shore the men caught the cub, removed the bucket and put it in a dog kennel. The cub was fed and then checked out by a wildlife expert. He posted the entire story on his Facebook page.
