6 year old paralyzed after a collision gets the puppy she's always wanted

While riding in the car with her grandmother, 6 year old Memphis suffered major injuries when the car was hit head on by a man who died in the accident.

Memphis has been in the hospital and is paralyzed from the waist down.

According to her mother Gayrene Meade, “She’s wanted a dog her whole entire life, and it sucks that this has to be the reason why she got a dog so soon.” Local organizations joined forces to provide, at no cost to the family, a service puppy to help Memphis when she gets home following intense physical therapy. The puppy, named Juliet, has already bonded with her.

“Juliet will be trained to pick things up off the ground. She’ll also be trained to turn light switches on and off. She’ll be trained to open up doors," said head trainer at Furry Friends Summit Earhart.
