Big Cats, Bears, Ferrets Get COVID-19 Vaccine at Oakland Zoo

Big cats, bears and ferrets at the Oakland zoo are being protected from the coronavirus by getting the COVID-19 vaccine. Tigers, black and grizzly bears, mountain lions and ferrets received their vaccines, which were donated and developed by Poets, a veterinary and pharmaceutical company in New Jersey. Primates and pigs will be next to get the vaccine. Zoetis is donating over 11,000 doses of the vaccine to nearly 70 zoos. Conservatories, sanctuaries, schools and government organizations in 27 states will be receiving vaccine doses too.
