A stray dog named Butter saved a family from being injured in a fire at their Virginia home, and then reunited with his owners. Charity Golloway and her two children were able to make it out safely. Butter took a liking to the Golloways' home a while back, so they made an outdoor shelter for him with an electric lamp, which is what burned up and started the fire. Butter started barking and howling at the Golloways bedroom window after the fire broke out. Golloway and her kids ran out of the house and were able to stop the fire before it grew larger. Then, in a twist to the story, it was discovered that Butter wasn't a stray after all. Rescuers from the Valley Volunteer Firefighter Department took a few photos of the hero dog, some of which ended up on Facebook, where a family recognized Butter as their missing dog Cooper. They got in touch with Golloway and plans are in place to reunite Cooper with his family
