A passenger aboard a Frontier Airlines flight was removed due to his behavior prior to the plane leaving Cleveland.
The passenger became involved in a heated discussion about the Bengals football team with another passenger on the flight. When a Frontier employee tried to step in to calm the situation down it only escalated as the unruly passenger was placed into a chokehold by another passenger on the flight.
Calm was eventually restored, and the unruly passenger was escorted off the flight and was turned over to airport police.
Last year the Federal Aviation Administration reported nearly 6,000 cases of unruly behavior and of those only 350 passengers faced criminal prosecution. Last year we had over 115 cases per week on average of unruly passengers and this year the pace has slowed considerably to only 65 per week.
In more than 70% of the cases in 2021 the events involved a mask dispute but apparently the Cleveland incident involved alcohol - and a lot of it.
