Even before the pandemic movie chains often used assigned seating for showings in luxury theaters and IMAX. During the pandemic a lot of chains instituted assigned seating in all theaters — something a lot of moviegoers like. Apparently a guy in Royal Oak, Michigan, didn’t understand assigned seating when he bought his luxury theater seat, because the guy spent too many minutes going off on two theater employees who wanted him to move to his assigned seat.
