A Connecticut state trooper originally from Poland recently helped a person change a tire. Trooper Lukasz Lipert was called to I-84 in Tolland on Wednesday (May 11th) and ended up helping former Polish President Lech Walesa, a Nobel Peace Prize laureate, change his tire. Walesa was in Connecticut promoting the cause of Ukrainian refugees who have been forced out of their country and now call Poland home. Connecticut State Police posted about the incident on Facebook, writing, “Trooper Lipert, a native of Poland, was beyond grateful for the opportunity to help such an influential individual, and briefly speak to him about the history of Poland."
