The Yuba City, California, police department has a new officer hopping around the station. Last year a bunny was found hopping around in the middle of a busy street. It was brought back to the Yuba PD and handed over to animal control, who could find neither hide nor hare of the bunny’s family. A police services analyst adopted the animal and named him Percy.
… The Yuba City Police Department announced the rabbit’s promotion to the rank of “wellness officer” just days before Easter Sunday. The department’s Facebook page shared: “Officer Percy lounges at the police department during the day and is a support animal for all.”
