Stealing Christmas backfires for Florida mother who said gifts were stolen

Shana Hudson, a woman from Southwest Florida, is facing legal consequences after allegedly fabricating a burglary report, claiming that Christmas presents for her children were stolen.

The Lee County Sheriff's Office, investigating the case, later discovered a tip through Crime Stoppers that led them to conclude Hudson had lied about the burglary. Detectives found the reported stolen items hidden at a relative's home.

According to Fox 13, authorities expressed disapproval of Hudson's actions, emphasizing the inappropriateness of such behavior during the holiday season. Sheriff Carmine Marceno stated that Hudson took advantage of the system and is now facing consequences for her "selfish choices."
