MAN RESCUED AFTER BEING TRAPPED IN HIS CRASHED TRUCK FOR A WEEK

A man from Indiana who was trapped in his crashed truck for nearly a week was found alive by two fishermen on Tuesday. Nivardo Delatorre and his father-in-law Mario Garcia were walking along Salt Creek in Portage, Indiana, when they spotted the wrecked vehicle under an overpass on Interstate 94. Thinking they had seen a dead person, they were shocked when the man inside the truck turned his head and spoke to them. The driver, identified as 27-year-old Matthew Reum, had been stranded and paralyzed since December 20. The truck had veered off the roadway, landed in a creek, and came to a stop under a bridge. Reum was pinned inside and unable to call for help. After the fishermen called 911, first responders were able to cut Reum from the vehicle using heavy machinery. He was flown to the hospital in critical condition due to severe injuries.
