Target Loss Prevention Officer Arrested For Stealing a Customer's iPhone

Glauce Oliveira was shopping at a North Miami Beach, Florida, Target store when she set her iPhone on a shelf. A few minutes later she realized it was gone. She asked a store loss prevention officer if he’d seen her phone. The officer said nobody had turned in a missing iPhone, but then “asked weird questions,” such as “if her password was hard” and if she had Apple Pay. Oliveira went home and used her Find My iPhone app to locate her phone. It reported being at the address of Christopher Rodriguez — the loss prevention officer she’d spoken to. According to the arrest report, Target’s surveillance video showed Rodriguez locating the phone on a shelf and then switching off the phone and concealing it in his hoodie pocket. Police arrested him.
