Students and staff at Brogden Middle School in Durham County North Carolina came together to show appreciation for Deona Washington, a school bus driver who went above and beyond during a recent bus fire incident. When the bus carrying 28 students caught fire, Washington sprang into action, ensuring everyone’s safety. At the school gathering in Washington’s honor, Principal Anthony White praised the bus driver as a hero, presenting her with flowers and a special hero T-shirt in recognition of her bravery.
