An Amazon driver saved a North Carolina woman’s life when she spotted a crashed vehicle on her route. Driver Amanda Smith found an overturned car on the side of the road with a trapped woman named Shirley Roberts inside. She said she saw a tire sticking up from a steep embankment which led her to an overturned car where a woman named Shirley Roberts had been trapped for hours with broken bones.
Smith then called for help. Roberts was rescued and taken to a hospital, and is now recovering. As a reward, Smith received the “Extra Mile” award from Amazon. Her team received a surprise pizza party, and she was given a laptop. However, some commenters online believe Smith should have received a large cash bonus instead.
