Jay Leno is the latest celebrity to be unveiled as a member of the Drew Barrymore babysitting club. The previous host of The Tonight Show recalled his experience looking after a young Barrymore during a segment on Thursday’s episode of her talk show.
“I met Drew when she was 3 years old. I was dating her aunt. She was asked to babysit, and I picked you up and bounced you on my knee,” Leno said. “It was just very funny.” (See the video below.)
Barrymore appeared surprised by Leno’s revelation that their relationship goes way, way back. “How did we never talk about that?” she asked. “Do you remember anything about me?”
He replied, “Well, you were a baby! I was the boyfriend of the babysitter. You would come in and sit and you’d make the kid laugh.”
Leno wasn’t the only famous babysitter Barrymore had growing up. Last season, she revealed that her pal Pauly Shore — who later proposed to her on the show — used to look after her, too.
