Christmas throwback: Darlene Love sings "Christmas" for David Letterman

When David Letterman still had his late night talk show, it was tradition to bring Darlene Love to the studio to perform "Christmas (Baby Please Come Home" (her classic Phil Spector hit) because Dave always said it's not Christmas until she sings that song.

It was a big production every year, with Paul Schaffer and his band, background singers, and even one year members of the Air Force Singing Sergeants.

Dave put a lot into this every year because he loved the song, loved Darlene and enjoyed sharing the performance.

Will he do it again this year like last year? Don't know. But in the meantime, enjoy these two videos. The first shows you a rehearsal for one of her appearances on the show (2014) and even without a talk show, Letterman brought the tradition back to You Tube last year...so watch and enjoy.
