When a car flipped onto its roof in Pittsburgh’s Chateau neighborhood, bystander Nathaniel Bunn, along with his son and father, rushed to help the driver. Despite their best efforts, they weren’t able to pry the vehicle’s doors open, so Bunn sat beside the wreck and comforted the driver, holding her hand until emergency responders arrived. Though the woman never spoke, she held Bunn’s hand tightly. It was only later that he learned she wasn’t in critical condition. He never got her name, but he hopes she was comforted by his actions and that they’ll be a reminder to others of the importance of compassion in emergencies.
