Monarch Butterfly Had Surgery To Replace A Broken Wing

A monarch butterfly with a damaged wing was rescued and rehabilitated at the Sweetbriar Nature Center in Smithtown, Long Island.

Director Janine Bendicksen performed a successful wing transplant using some glue and a wing from a dead monarch, restoring the butterfly’s ability to fly.
