The Car‑Attacking Parakeet Returns

A loose parakeet has terrorized residents near Inverness since February by attacking cars and causing thousands of dollars in damage. The escaped pet targets rubber components including window seals and windshield wipers, prompting locals to cover vehicles with tarps. "Parakeet is not a good word round here in Inverness," resident Cathleen MacKinnon said. "This little chap causes havoc on the cars around here." Neighbor Chrissanne Robertson said the bird disappears for weeks before returning unexpectedly. "You'll hear a shout of 'he's back again,'" she explained.
