Operation New Hope: These dogs from Jasper County ready for a home

Operation New Hope is a joint venture between the Chatham County Sheriff's Office and area rescue groups.

Operation New Hope is giving dogs a second chance. Operation New Hope is a program at the Chatham County Detention Center that takes in dogs and assigns them to individual inmates for four weeks of training. After the training period the dogs are available for adoption at the Sheriff’s Office. The purpose of the program is to not only rescue the dog but to rehabilitate the inmate and cut down on recidivism.

In this program, dogs needing socialization to improve chances of being adopted are paired with inmates (non-violent) at the Chatham County Jail who live with the dogs 24/7, teaching them basic commands, obedience and house training.  All these dogs were from JASPER ANIMAL RESCUE MISSION in Ridgeland SC...See if there's a dog that catches your eye...
