TRAIN BLOCKS RAILROAD CROSSING FOR NINE HOURS

One of the complaints that people who work in and around Savannah have is trains blocking the roads.

It's not unusual for a train to cross a heavily traveled road for a few minutes as traffic sits and waits. We see it along President Street and at various intersections in Western Chatham County. Then sometimes those trains just stop and sit...and sit...and sit. Take heed, you're not alone.

Commuters in a Detroit-area city faced an unexpected detour the other day when a train blocked a railroad crossing for nine hours. The city manager of Plymouth, Michigan, called the train’s owner, CSX, who told him the situation should be resolved in a week to 10 days. But they didn’t tell the city what the situation is.
