Swoosh The Dog Gets The Job Done

There’s a Pomeranian pup in Nashville who’s just about the cutest dog ever. But Swoosh, as he’s called, is so much more. A therapy dog and the winner of the 2014 Animal Medical Center Top Dog Award, Swoosh works tirelessly to bring loving support to kids undergoing cancer treatment at Vanderbilt’s Children’s Hospital. Now, he’s also part of the first clinical trial that aims to assess the benefits of pet therapy as part of cancer treatment. Early results indicate that Swoosh and his colleagues definitely have had a beneficial impact on the parents of the children, reducing their stress levels.
