Comfort Dogs on-site when students return to Stoneman Douglas HS

Emotional students and teachers returned to Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, as it reopened for the first time since the shooting two weeks earlier that left 17 students and teachers dead. Hundreds of police officers, some of them heavily-armed, guarded the school, and the superintendent said the police presence will remain for the rest of the school year. There were also grief counselors and comfort animals on hand. The freshman building where the massacre took place remained closed.
