Back in 2006, O.J. Simpson sat down with producer and host Judith Regan for an in-depth interview about the notorious murders of his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman, but the tapes from that interview never made it to air. The interview was part of the controversy surrounding the proposed book If I Did It, in which Simpson discussed how he would have murdered the pair if he did it. The book’s release was canceled over outrage that Simpson might profit off the deaths of his ex-wife and Goldman, and the Fox interview was shelved.
… Now Fox plans to air this interview on Sunday, March 11 in a special two-hour event. This event coincidentally falls on the very Sunday that ABC will premiere its version of American Idol — which previously belonged to Fox.
