Watch: Why Elton John walked off the stage last week

Elton John stormed off the stage on Thursday night (March 1st) during his performance Las Vegas' Colosseum At Caesars Palace, according to Ultimate Classic Rock. Elton, who allows fans to join him onstage during the encore performance of "Saturday Night's Alright For Fighting" offered some choice words to an over zealous fan who wouldn't stop touching the "Rocket Man" while he was trying to play. Elton returned to the stage to close the show, telling the crowd: "No more coming on stage on 'Saturday Night. . . ' You f***ed it up.'"

This isn't the first time Elton has had trouble during the "fan participation" portion of the show. Back on February 15th, while performing in New Orleans, a fan threw a set of Mardi Gras beads at Elton, pegging him in the mouth. Elton paused while the band carried on checking to see if he had any broken teeth, then cursed and fumed his way through the song's completion.

  • Elton John posted a message on Twitter regarding Thursday night's incident in Las Vegas, which reads in full: "Thursday night in Las Vegas a fan put his hands on the piano keys while I was playing and continued to do so even after I asked him to stop. He then proceeded to reach over the piano and try to take pictures, completely disrupting the performance. I bring fans onstage every evening when we play 'Saturday Night' in the set. . . it is always a lovely part of the show where I get to meet them, shake their hands and have them right there with me while I play. They have always been very courteous to the fact we are in the middle of playing a song live. This guy was rude, disruptive and had no care or respect for our show and so I let him know how I felt, then left the stage until they had removed him."

This happened just a few weeks ago at his Las Vegas show
