Typically the worst thing a student will experience during a school fire drill is a sunburn from standing outside while school officials assess the effectiveness of the drill. An Oregon teenager was knocked unconscious by a deer while she was evacuating her high school. Josie Lemley was taken to the hospital with a concussion and some serious cuts and bruises. She had to get stitches for a head wound. Witnesses said the deer looked spooked when it ran into Lemley, possibly startled by the fire alarms at Eagle Point High School. Students and staff rushed to help the girl. The deer was also hurt, likely with a broken leg.
