Memorial Health announces the loss of 85 employees

We just received this statement from Memorial Health in Savannah:

"Memorial Health has always been the region’s healthcare leader and innovator.

Right now, our team is focused on regaining financial stability for the hospital in order to ensure that we can deliver that extraordinary care to generations of patients to come. To do that, we are looking closely at our processes, our systems and how we use our team members to deliver the best patient care.

When we find opportunities to strengthen the organization, we have to make those changes. This week, our team took the very difficult step of saying goodbye to 85 Team Members who have served this hospital and this community well.

Other team members shifted into new roles to focus more directly on care delivery. At the same time, we continue to actively recruit for more than 200 patient care roles.

As we move forward, we are deeply committed to expanding Memorial’s high-quality care for this region through expansions of our centers of excellence for children, cancer, heart, joint, spine, minimally-invasive surgery and emergency care.

We are grateful to our Team Members for their steadfast commitment to our patients, our community and Memorial."
