A white woman calls police on a black family grilling on the lake

A white woman called the police on a black family at Lake Merritt in Oakland, California, last month while they were setting up for a day at the park.

Their crime, according to the unidentified woman, was grilling in one of the park’s designated barbecue zones using a charcoal grill, instead of a “non-charcoal” grill.

The April 29 incident was filmed by a witness named Michelle Snider, who confronted the woman for calling the police on the family. In recent weeks, a number of incidents around the U.S. have involved white people calling the police on black people and other people of color for such activities as sitting at Starbucks, staying at an Airbnb, taking a nap and participating in a college campus tour.

Police responded to the incident but did not issue any citations, according to Oakland Councilmember Lynette Gibson McElhaney, though the family was detained and questioned for one hour.

The video of the confrontation went viral on Thursday after a San Francisco news station, aired a segment on it.

Her point? They have a charcoal grill and they're not allowed. Then along comes this woman (also white) who thinks this woman is nuts wasting time and tax money to have police come out and investigate. She takes her phone and documents every move she makes.

Then she tries to reason with her, to no avail.

(from Twitter)  There are so many sad things about this story. 1)this man was being harassed by an Angry White Woman, 2) i had to take three hours out of my day to make sure this Angry White Woman did not put his life in danger. 3) it took another white woman to check her

Also, white people need to stop calling the cops on Black people when they are doing NOTHING WRONG! 1) you're wasting my tax dollars and 2) most important, you are literally putting lives in danger!
Update! The police showed up an hour later and told the men they were bbq'ing in a LEGAL zone. So...Angry White Woman was just harassing these men for hours for nothing AND wasting tax dollars.
