Florida high school brings a live tiger to the prom!

There’s just something about Florida. A high school there apologized after bringing a real, live tiger to the school’s jungle-themed prom. Students and family members said they were surprised Friday night (May 11th) when the Christopher Columbus High School prom at the Double Tree by Hilton hotel in Miami featured surprise animal guests including a caged tiger, a fennec fox, a lemur and two macaw parrots. Many, including an animal behavior expert and spokesman for ZooMiami, said the tiger was “obviously stressed” by the experience. The school said in a statement Sunday (May 13th) that the tiger was not harmed by the experience. Principal David Pugh released a statement Monday morning (May 14th) apologizing for the stunt.
