Captured and abused woman slips a 'help' note to her veterinarian

Maybe indirectly her dog saved her life.

A woman in Volusia County, Florida escaped alleged captivity and abuse by her boyfriend by slipping a note to her pet’s veterinarian. The note begged him to call the police, and warned that her boyfriend had a gun. Jeremy Floyd was arrested shortly afterwards. Carolyn Reichle was taken to a hospital for treatment of several injuries she says Floyd inflicted. She had persuaded him that her dog needed to go to the vet, and he insisted on going with her.
