Barred from speaking at graduation, valedictorian gave his speech outside

Christian Bales and Katherine Frantz, the valedictorian and student council president at Holy Cross High School in Covington, Ky., learned they would not be able to deliver their speeches during graduation because the local Catholic diocese found parts of their speeches were too political and not in line with the church’s teachings. So Bales and Frantz found a pair of megaphones and delivered their speeches outside. The speeches reportedly dealt with social reform and they praised the fight for stronger gun laws by survivors of the school shooting in Florida.
