Breaking news: ABC has canceled "ROSEANNE"!

After returning to the air and having a premiere with over 25 million viewers, Roseanne Barr has now lost her show. ABC has pulled plans to return next season after racist tweets she made toward ex-Obama adviser Valerie Jarrett.

She falsely alleged that Jarrett, who was born in Iran to American parents, has connections to the Muslim Brotherhood, and compared her to an ape. Barr wrote “Muslim brotherhood & planet of the apes had a baby=vj,” using Jarrett’s initials.

Barr, one of Donald Trump’s most high-profile supporters, apologized for the post shortly afterwards and announced she’d be quitting Twitter. She also deleted the tweet.

ABC Entertainment president Channing Dungey said in a statement: “Roseanne’s Twitter statement is abhorrent, repugnant and inconsistent with our values, and we have decided to cancel her show.”

Barr was replying to a post from a user that accused Jarrett, a long-serving adviser to the president, of covering up the Obama administration’s alleged “misdeeds”.

When a Twitter user told Barr that her tweet was offensive and racist – Jarrett is African American – Barr responded by writing: “Muslims r NOT a race.”

Shortly after, Barr reiterated her stance in another post: “ISLAM is not a RACE, lefties. Islam includes EVERY RACE of people.”

Eventually, Barr apologized. She wrote: “I apologize to Valerie Jarrett and to all Americans. I am truly sorry for making a bad joke about her politics and her looks. I should have known better. Forgive me – my joke was in bad taste.” But it was too late.

We talk all the time about racism in America and quite frankly Roseanne is one of the people I least expected this from but from her past comments on social media I should have known.  ABC had no other choice considering Shonda Rimes, an African American, has some of the network's most popular shows; and don't forget "Black-ish."

The irony in all of this? It happened on the same day that Starbucks closed over 800 stores for racial bias training!

Sandra Bernhard, who has appeared on the show, comments (caution: strong language!)

Sara Gilbert, an original cast member and star of the daytime talk show "The Talk," is an executive producer on the show and the one who got all the original cast members to return. She wrote:

After the cancellation she tweeted:

But it didn't stop there. Roseanne also tweeted about Chelsea Clinton:

Barr also tweeted about Chelsea Clinton, referring to her as “Chelsea Soros Clinton.” That is a reference to George Soros, the billionaire who has helped fund progressive causes. Clinton fired back with her own response, writing, “Good morning Roseanne – my given middle name is Victoria. I imagine George Soros’s nephews are lovely people. I’m just not married to one. I am grateful for the important work @OpenSociety does in the world. Have a great day!”

Very very sad.
