The head coach of the University of California women's basketball team is speaking out about an alleged incident of racial insensitivity involving her and her infant biracial son when flying from Denver back home to San Francisco. Coach Lindsay Gottlieb, who is white, said a Southwest Airlines employee asked for proof that the baby was hers. The agent said it's required. Southwest, in responding to Lindsay's tweet, says it is not.
airlines have asked this of me, too, with my daughter. once I learned it's a precaution for the very real threat of child trafficking, I stopped being exasperated with it. Now I'm kind of worried when they don't ask.— christine teigen (@chrissyteigen) May 29, 2018
